With a $150 budget, I set out to find the best computer speakers I could to replace my maudio AV40's.
In this video, I review the Mackie CR4 computer speakers/monitors:
A great solution for cheap studio monitors, as they played very clear, very loud and distortion free. But on their own as general purpose computer speakers, they left me wanting a bit more.
If you spend a lot of time listening to music, watching movies, or playing video games on your computer, I think you would be much better served going with a 2.1 speaker system like the Logitech z623 which can be had for only $120:
But if you want the most articulate and flat sounding monitors on a budget price, then the Mackie's should serve you very well.
